Gila Native Plant Nursery – VIRTUAL Spring Plant Sale

March 23 – April 17, 2020
Order plants online  and pick up @ Gila Native Plant Nursery

Directions to Gila Native Plant Nursery

In response to the Covid-19 outbreak, the Gila Watershed Partnership is holding a virtual plant sale in lieu of its spring plant sale event.

In an effort to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus 19, the Gila Watershed Partnership has canceled its spring native plant sale planned for April 3 & 4, and replaced it with a “virtual plant sale”. Those hoping to purchase native, pollinator friendly and drought-tolerant plants can order online and then pick up their plants between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm every Friday between March 23 – April 17.

Gardening and landscaping are perfect activities for times like this! We want to provide the public with opportunities to purchase plants during the spring planting season, but without the risk of gathering in large crowds.

Frisco Float & Trail: Great Duck Race

Saturday, April 25, 2020 @ Clifton Northernmost Bridge

The first plastic duck river race; a.k.a “The Great Duck Race”, will happen on April 25th in Clifton between the 3 historic bridges along the San Francisco River. All funds will go toward planning and permitting to create a recreational space along the San Francisco River as it flows through Clifton.

How it works? You purchase a duck ($10) or two ($20) or three ($25), and are given a number for each duck. The day of the race, the numbered ducks will be released into the San Francisco River at the northernmost bridge and will “race” to the to the southernmost bridge, about a mile. The first duck to cross the finish line will earn its owner the grand prize…a kayak complete with safety vest and paddle!

Ducks can be purchased by clicking here.
